Since its foundation in 1983, AMHSCO has dedicated itself in assisting hospitals ,healthcare  and industrial facilities  within the Kingdom to meet their objectives by procuring their needs and providing after sales service.

    To serve better, we have full fledged offices located all over the Kingdom. The Jeddah Branch serves the Western region, Dammam Branch covers Eastern region and office in Abha to cover Southern region.

In 1978, Sheikh Fahad Mohammed Al-Athel discerned the need for a Saudi hospital management company. He founded General Arabian Medical & Allied Services Ltd. (GAMA) and became its President & Chairman of the Board. He is also the President & Chairman of the Board of FAL Holdings Arabia Co., Ltd. the parent company of GAMA. His MBA degree from the University of Santa Clara enables him to effectively manage several companies and to serve on their Boards of Directors.

 

Mr. Hamad Al-Assaf, a Saudi national, was General Director of Projects at the Ministry of Information when he joined GAMA as the Defuty CEO in 1985 on a seconded basis. He became its CEO in 1991. He is responsible for all projects and operating departments of the Corporation. He holds B.S.E. and M.S.E.E. degrees from Arizona State University in Electrical Engineering (Telecommunications). In 1993 he was appointed Senior Vice President and Deputy Chairman of FAL Holdings Arabia Co., Ltd. the parent company of GAMA .

 

Engr. Assaf Hussain Al-Assaf is the CEO of AMHSCO.  He graduated from San Martin College in Olympia, State of Washington in 1985 with BS Degree in Civil Engineering, he completed his Masters Degree in Engineering Management in 1986. As Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Al-Assaf is responsible for all the aspects of the trading operations of the company. He is a Board Director and reports to the President & Chairman of the Board.

Dr. Sulaiman Al-Bilali, a Saudi national, received his M.B., B. Ch. From the Medical School of Cairo University and his D.T.M. & H. Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from Liverpool University in the U.K. After serving as Resident in Cairo Medical School Hospital and in the Medical Department of King Saud University, Riyadh, he worked in different hospitals in the U.K. and Ireland for a few years. He joined the Ministry of Health (MOH) in 1983 and served in senior managerial positions, participating in the planning and monitoring the operations of all MOH hospitals. He served as Director General of Hospital till 1990 when he was appointed Director General of the 1,000-bed Riyadh Central Hospital. In 1992, he joined GAMA as Deputy CEO - Operations. From 1993-1996, he was seconded as the Project Director of the King Fahad National Guard Hospital in Riyadh and, again, from 1997 to 1999, as the Executive Director of the King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital in Riyadh. At GAMA, he has overall responsibility for the supervision and direction of management operations of all projects. He is also responsible for GAMA's efforts to both diversify and expand its activities .

Our goals in the sales and marketing department is to provide quality and innovation products and after sales service that is the best in the industry.
    Through our network of branches in the Kingdom, staffed by well trained and dedicated sales personnel, we ensure that our customers needs are fulfilled. Customers requests are handled promptly and efficient, orders are delivered quickly, customers, staff are trained in use our products and technical and clinical support are available round the clock.
    Our marketing activities support continuing medical education programs, regional & hospital symposia, pocket meetings and trade exhibitions.

    AMHSCO's Sales & Marketing Department prepares the tenders related to the Ministry of Health (MOH) and SGH Tenders for the supply and delivery of medical equipments and its consumables through a separate division which comes under the direct supervision of the Commercial manager.

Additional task for the Sales & Marketing Department are:
    Business Development of the Company.
    Communicating with our principals and suppliers in order to smooth our operations and facilitate matters related to
    general business functions.
    Supervision of AMHSCO's procurement offices.
    Organize active participation in Medical Symposium and
    healthcare Exhibitions.

Service Department

AMHSCO maintains leadership in its field of activities through excellence of support services provided to its customers.
    The department has qualified and efficient team of manufacturer trained bio-medical engineers. It provides fast service response to customer calls. It has maintenance contracts with prestigious hospitals at MOH & private sector. It has strategically located distribution centers for rapid response to needs for spare parts. Offers technical service training program for end-users, and in service program for continuing education & staff training.

Pharmaceutical

AMHSCO is the Sole Agent for some International Companies like Menarini Int'l., Italy, Berlin Chemie, Germany and Unimed of Tunisia.

Pharmaceutical Division was established in the year 1992 with a wide range of sales and distribution. We supply Pharmaceutical items to most of the prestigious hospitals, Government Institutions, Private  Hospitals and Pharmacies kingdom wide.

Sales Strategy

Company Policies :

    - Credit Sales
   
         AMHSCO is offering services to customers who continue in dealing with us by giving
            many  facilities, such as :
                - open credit from.....to follow the collection within 90 days facility.
                - credit limits depending on the customer's needs and consumption.
                - sales price (Bonus Scheme) for credit facilities.
                - for cash bonus, we offer......% of discount more & 06% bonus depending on the
                  payment periods.

    - Sales Private  
            - The sales representatives collects the customer purchase orders from his customers
               in his territory  personally, or over the phone or fax.
            - The approval from the Sales Manager is vital fro the prices in the Customer Purchase
               Orders and check-up of the customer's account.
            - The Customer Purchase Order is then forwarded for data processing where in turn
               Proforma  Invoice is made showing the sales value and the mark-up for each invoice.
            - In the meanwhile, the Data Processing  Department is on-line connected with the
              Warehouse for preparing the goods together with the invoice, making sure that
              everything is OK.
            - The driver will distribute the goods on the same day of the printing of the invoice.
            - When the customer receives the goods, he signs the invoice to ascertain that
              everything is OK while the customer gets the original invoice. The other copies have
              to be stamped and forwarded to the finance Department, Sales Department and
             Warehouse.  

    - Returned Goods 
   
         - The policy is to return goods on the same day of its delivery, which are due to short-
              expiry or damaged goods and they should be checked and be reasonable.
            - In other cases, AMHSCO does not entertain returned goods due to any other reasons
              unless the manufacturer undertakes and agrees to replace them.  

Purchases & Logistics
Since the Pharmaceutical Department relies on Stock for the institutional Companies, the Sales Manager and the Sales Coordinator are the ones to be issued with the requirements after obtaining the suitable prices according to the quantities purchased and the offers in the season.

    - Purchase
           - When stocks are reached to the level requested from records from the computer system,
            
the purchasing department......after obtaining the prices, a purchase order is issued to
             the suppliers suggested by the sales department and get approval from the C.E.O.
           - Cash items received at the warehouse - receiving report and costing are made by the
             data processing clerk at the finance department and approved by authorized signature.
    - Tender & Institutional Purchases
          
- For Tender & Institutional Purchases, imported items are made as per request for
             quotation from the customer (Hospitals) and the figures in the Proforma Invoice shows
             our sales prices/quantity, expiry date, manufacturer, validity of Proforma Invoice and
             delivery date.
           - When the customer Purchase Order is received, we issue the purchase order to the
             supplier before confirming from them the price, manufacturer and other customer
             requirements.
           - When receiving the goods these particular items will be cleared from the customs by
             AMHSCO after obtaining Clearance Letter from the Hospital.
           - If any problems arise in regard to short-expiry, wrong manufacturer and other matters
             while receiving the items, the cost will be deducted from the invoice of the supplier.

AMHSCO maintains computerized warehouse facility in accordance with Ministry of Civil Defense Defense environmental and safety regulates.  AMHSCO main warehouse is located in Diriyah, Riyadh, in addition to the other two warehouses in our branches in Western & Eastern regions.  All medical supplies and pharmaceuticals are stored in the warehouse which also has refrigerated storage facility to accommodate chemicals, regents and other materials which  requires refrigeration.
